Dissociation and Delayed Conduction

چکیده
Bipolar electrograms were recorded from five to six sites on the septal right bundle branch (RBB) using a multielectrode patch in ten mongrel dogs. Antegrade activation was recorded along the right bundle during sinus rhythm and during right atrial pacing at varying heart rates. Retrograde activation was produced by pacing from right ventricular epicardium. Right bundle conduction velocities varied from 1.4 to 3.3 m/sec (mean 2.0 m/sec) for antegrade conduction and from 1.8 to 2.7 m/sec (mean 2.1 m/sec) for retrograde activation. Varying degrees of conduction delay were elicited by premature

Ion Concentration-Dependent Ion Conduction Mechanism of a Voltage-Sensitive Potassium Channel
Voltage-sensitive potassium ion channels are essential for life, but the molecular basis of their ion conduction is not well understood. In particular, the impact of ion concentration on ion conduction has not been fully studied. We performed several micro-second molecular dynamics simulations of the pore domain of the Kv1.2 potassium channel in KCl solution at four different ion concentrations...
متن کاملMyocardial ischaemia and defects of atrioventricular conduction associated with cardiac surgery.
Changes in atrioventricular conduction coincident with myocardial anoxia were observed experimentaily in the cat over half a century ago (Lewis and Mathison, 1910), but in these experiments the prolongation of atrioventricular conduction time progressing to total atrioventricular dissociation was reversible within a few minutes of restoring full oxygenation. More recent work confirmed the actio...
متن کاملAtrial conduction abnormalities in patients with psoriasis vulgaris.
BACKGROUND Psoriasis vulgaris is one of the most common chronic inflammatory skin disorders. Patients with psoriasis are at risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF). The electromechanical delay (EMD) is the time interval from the onset of the P wave on surface electrocardiography (ECG) to the beginning of the A wave. Prolonged atrial EMD is an independent risk factor for the development of A...
متن کاملSignificance of retrograde conduction in A-v dissociation.
In certain circumstances the discharge rate of the A-V node may exceed that of the S-A node. The A-V node then becomes the dominant pacemaker of the heart. If, in addition, there is retrograde unidirectional A-V block, the atria remain under control of the S-A node, and A-V dissociation results. When a sinus impulse reaches the A-V node during the non-refractory phase, it is conducted to, and c...
متن کاملFetal tachyarrhythmia with 1:1 atrioventricular conduction. Adenosine infusion in the umbilical vein as a diagnostic test.
This is the report of a case of fetal tachyarrhythmia with 1:1 atrioventricular conduction detected by pre-natal echocardiography in a fetus at 25-weeks gestation. Adenosine infusion via cordocentesis was performed as a diagnostic test to differentiate between atrioventricular nodal reentrant supraventricular tachyarrhythmia and atrial flutter. After infusion, transient 2:1 atrioventricular dis...
